+ Saints: St. Marguerite Bourgeoys

+ First Reading: 1 John 5:14-21

14 This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

15 And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don't say that he should make a request concerning this.

17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

18 We know that whoever is born of God doesn't sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him.

19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

20 We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

+ Psalm: Psalms 149:1-2, 3-4, 5-6a and 9b

1 Praise Yahweh!
Sing to Yahweh a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the saints.

2 Let Israel rejoice in him who made them.
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

3 Let them praise his name in the dance!
Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp!

4 For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people.
He crowns the humble with salvation.

5 Let the saints rejoice in honor.
Let them sing for joy on their beds.

6a May the high praises of God be in their mouths,
and a two-edged sword in their hand;

9b All his saints have this honor.

+ Gospel: John 3:22-30

22 After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them, and baptized.

23 John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came, and were baptized.

24 For John was not yet thrown into prison.

25 There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John's disciples with some Jews about purification.

26 They came to John, and said to him, "Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, the same baptizes, and everyone is coming to him."

27 John answered, "A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven.

28 You yourselves testify that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before him.'

29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This, my joy, therefore is made full.

30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

+ Today's Reading: Isaiah 66:10-14、18-23

10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her.
Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her;

11 that you may nurse and be satisfied at the comforting breasts;
that you may drink deeply,
and be delighted with the abundance of her glory."

12 For Yahweh says, "Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river,
and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
and you will nurse.
You will be carried on her side,
and will be dandled on her knees.

13 As one whom his mother comforts,
so will I comfort you.
You will be comforted in Jerusalem."

14 You will see it, and your heart shall rejoice,
and your bones will flourish like the tender grass.
Yahweh's hand will be known among his servants;
and he will have indignation against his enemies.

18 "For I know their works and their thoughts. The time comes that I will gather all nations and languages, and they will come, and will see my glory.

19 "I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to far-away islands, who have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.

20 They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to Yahweh, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says Yahweh, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into Yahweh's house.

21 Of them I will also select priests and Levites," says Yahweh.

22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me," says Yahweh, "so your offspring* and your name shall remain.

23 It shall happen that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh will come to worship before me," says Yahweh.
