Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus
-----
Gospel : John 11:19-27
19
Many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.
20
Then when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary stayed in the house.
21
Therefore Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn't have died.
22
Even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you."
23
Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
24
Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
26 Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
27
She said to him, "Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, God's Son, he who comes into the world."

Luke 10:38-42
38
As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39
She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard his word.
40
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, "Lord, don't you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me."
41
Jesus answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
42
but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her."

Exodus 33:7-11; 34:5b-9, 28
33:7
Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far away from the camp, and he called it "The Tent of Meeting." Everyone who sought the LORD went out to the Tent of Meeting, which was outside the camp.
8
When Moses went out to the Tent, all the people rose up, and stood, everyone at their tent door, and watched Moses, until he had gone into the Tent.
9
When Moses entered into the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, stood at the door of the Tent, and the LORD spoke with Moses.
10
All the people saw the pillar of cloud stand at the door of the Tent, and all the people rose up and worshiped, everyone at their tent door.
11
The LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn't depart from the Tent.
34:5b
and stood with him there, and proclaimed the LORD's name.
6
The LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, "The LORD! The LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
7
keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children's children, on the third and on the fourth generation."
8
Moses hurried and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.
9
He said, "If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance."
