 Today's Bible story ☆

April 20, 2026 Have a good day! ----- Monday of the Third Week of Easter ----- ☆ Gospel: John 6:22-29 22 The day after, the people who were on the other side of the sea saw that only one small boat had been there, that Jesus had not gone in that boat with the disciples, but that the disciples had gone away by themselves. 23 Some other boats, however, came from Tiberias near to the place where they had taken the bread after the Lord had given praise. 24 So when the people saw that Jesus was not there, or his disciples, they got into those boats and went over to Capernaum looking for Jesus. 25 And when they came across him on the other side of the sea they said, Rabbi, when did you come here? 26 Jesus, answering them, said, Truly I say to you, You come after me, not because you saw signs, but because you were given the bread and had enough. 27 Let your work not be for the food which comes to an end, but for the food which goes on for eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you, for on him has God the Father put his mark. 28 Then they said to him, How may we do the works of God? 29 Jesus, answering, said to them, This is to do the work of God: to have faith in him whom God has sent. ----- ☆ Acts 6:8-15 6 These they took to the Apostles, who, after prayer, put their hands on them. 7 And the word of God was increasing in power; and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem became very great, and a great number of priests were in agreement with the faith. 8 And Stephen, full of grace and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. 9 But some of those who were of the Synagogue named that of the Libertines, and some of the men of Cyrene and of Alexandria and those from Cilicia and Asia, had arguments with Stephen. 10 But they were not able to get the better of him, for his words were full of wisdom and of the Spirit. 11 Then they got men to say, He has said evil against Moses and against God, in our hearing. 12 And the people, with the rulers and the scribes, were moved against him, and they came and took him before the Sanhedrin, 13 And they got false witnesses who said, This man is for ever saying things against this holy place and against the law: 14 For he has said in our hearing that this Jesus of Nazareth will put this place to destruction and make changes in the rules which were handed down to us by Moses. 15 And all those who were in the Sanhedrin, looking at him, saw that his face was like the face of an angel. ----- ◇ Daily Readings April 20, 2026 https://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/042026.cfm ☆ The Bible in Basic English BBE https://www.biblestudytools.com/bbe/ ◇ The Holy Bible[King James Version] https://www.wordproject.org/bibles/kj/index.htm ◇ Abiding Radio Instrumental (BGM) https://www.abidingradio.org/radio/instrumental -----
